Case study:

Transformation and recovery of revenue for national television broadcaster. Production and broadcasting of commissioned programmes with no formal management oversight in the attracting and wining of artistic and current affaires business to occupy studios. Costing, financial and commercial controls not established and absence of structured studio planning and scheduling management. Legacy and dysfunctional historic practices that existed were not sufficient. No relationship between revenue, studio time, equipment usage and energy costs and charges. Vehicle pool and assets lacked ownership, poorly serviced, equipped and maintained outside broadcasting vehicles remained unused, whilst requests for hiring vehicles and equipment were received and approved.

  • Transformation of revenue projection and costs, planning and scheduling of studio, equipment and vehicle use,
  • Overhaul and implementation of financial and commercial controls, costings and invoicing protocols,
  • Fleet utilisation increase and decrease in the hiring of vehicles,
  • Recovery of asset management away from commissioning parties and returned to broadcaster,
  • Restructure of studio management and fee-paying utilisation,
  • Turnaround and transparency of revenue streams, control returned to the broadcaster
