Hospitality & Leisure

Overview & Case Study

Examples of projects and engagements include, transformation of hotel chain rebranding to create two totally different guest experiences. Relaunching restaurant and dining experiences. Transformation of new hire promotion policy and practices with no risk to brand standard. Turnaround of spa & leisure revenues and margins.

Case study:

Transformation of an international hotel chain’s new hire promotion policy to retain talented new hires and reduce rehiring and training costs. Most common cause for new entry level hires leaving was little to zero early promotion to management level, due to a legacy recruitment policy. Talented and aspiring new hires permitted to shadow and stand-in but not able to use any of this experience to progress. Guest experiences complimenting new hires were not recognised by management due to legacy policy. Vacancies filled by recruitment from other chains or from outside the hospitality sector.

  • New entry level hire, promoted to supervisor and manager, duty hotel manager, two years earlier than policy,
  • Implementation of 1:1 tailored & bespoke training and development of new hire promotion,
  • New hires owning and over delivering P&L, budget, revenue, sales and management KPIs,
  • Full proficiency required and demonstrated in own department and able to run all other departments / functions,
  • Brand standards fully respected, pre-Covid 19, additional revenue & margin, increased guest compliments,
  • During Covid-19 used as exemplar of cost reductions with full capability for immediate pandemic occupancy,
  • Post Covid-19 revenue modelling, membership retention and guest engagement
